Cynical moment and stuff
Sep. 15th, 2010 03:29 pm As much as Americans revere the family, they differ sharply on how to define it.
New research being released Wednesday shows steadily increasing recognition of unmarried couples — gay and straight — as families. But there's a solid core resisting this trend who are more willing to include pets in their definition than same-sex partners.
Is that why that "solid core" keeps bringing up the argument about people marrying their dogs next? Because they might be tempted to?
/mean-spirited cynicism
(Nothing against including pets as family members, just disgust over people thinking gay partners are even lesser than animals.)
So, I've been working on my art project, but have decided that after four re-dos and some questionable replacement supplies, I'm going to just lay it aside for the rest of the day. Well, except for one thing which I can do while watching a movie (any movie!), though even that will probably wait till tomorrow 'cause I'm tired. I did a lot yesterday and haven't been a slug today, so I think I had better quit while somewhat ahead.
But I'm getting there! And I'm getting inspiration for Christmas, too!
