I just finished reading Heyer's "A Civil Contract," which was a much more interesting and rewarding read than I had anticipated. Not her usual fluff, but not a thriller, either. I wonder if that was one of the books that inspired Meave Binchy with "The Shell Seekers."

Now I just have to read "Chocolat" and I can return to the library without borrower's remorse.

The weekend has been good, so far. We got tons of laundry done, meals made and playing accomplished on Saturday, and yesterday I sang, gave a definite maybe to being on the PR committee and painted two stairways and their landings for the local theater troupe. Then I took a nice hot shower and got a massage to try and help relieve my super-dooper tight pecks and traps.

At least the massage helped me get to sleep. Geoff turned out to be too wired to sleep, because the Broncos did an awsome job against the Patriots, winning in OT. Geoff is very happy about this.

Today brings a day off for Geoff... not that he's actually taking it all the way off, of course. But he's promised to do some Very Important Things, so that's good.

And me? I'd like to go have a nap, actually. My muscles are still really sore, and my eyes really heavy. However, I have to think of what's for supper, still. Something that uses the kale in the fridge (made sarson-saag jack last night (didn't have any paneer) which was yummy and used up the 'baby' mustard greens I'd bought)... And is preferably non-vegetarian. I need some red meat.

Tomorrow I'm going down to MA to meet a friend for lunch, or something. We haven't decided yet what to do. Wednesday I go to a local private pond with my painters' group, take lots of pretty pics (Fall is in full swing here) and then go pick Babe up from school and take him over to the painting house for lunch and picture reviews. Probably no actual painting will take place, but that's okay. While there, I'll arrange the time for the next lesson with one of the members. (Must remember to study up beforehand!)

Tuesday evening, Geoff will be leaving for Buffalo again, but hopefully he'll be back before Saturday.

And tonight I'm going to try to make it to paint some more of the theater sets. I won't be able to make it on Thursday, so...

So, I'm busy, but there's not much to actually talk about. Yet...

The downside to this weekend was that the health insurance quotes came in. On the plus side, we'll be able to afford to cover all of us without going into any more debt. On the downside, it's pretty damn expensive for catastrophe insurance.

Geoff is more open to moving across the border now, which is good, but not without hope of a job, which is reasonable. It's difficult to research jobs, however, when most of the job-search pages are blocked from outside the country. Reasonable, but annoying. I'm hoping my family know some people who might be helpful in this regard.

Anyway, that's enough chattering for now. I need to go get myself some tea or hot water and figure out what I'm going to do with the day. :-)

It's good to hear you sounding energetic, and suffering fatigue that's earned rather than inflicted by life sucking, if you see what I mean.

I think it sounds very positive that Geoff's becoming more open to the idea of moving.

Yeah, it's nice to feel, too. I hope to have more energy than this someday, but for now, it's pretty good.

Yes. It is. I think he thought I was being hysterical or something. Now he doesn't. Yay!
