And for my stomach to be empty enough to take some flesh eating enzymes... (okay, more flesh digesting enzymes... but the good kind of flesh-eating enzyme! Honest! ;-)
LOL! (But a bit too true..)
Lovely and rawther amazing.
The first week of vacation has hurtled by in a relaxing, if unaccountably busy, way. This next week is sure to be busier and very probably less relaxing. But good. I'm painting a mural on the kid's room's wall. There is almost no way in hell I'll be able to finish it in the coming week, but I'll try to get as much of it done as I can without exhausting myself.
The picture will be of a trellis covered with climbing roses and clematis. I'm thinking a Joseph's Coat for the rose and Jackmanii for the clematis. The Joseph's coat is gorgeous, and is climbing up one of my parent's walls. The Jackmanii is just sentimental revenge. (It was what was supposed to be on my parents' mailbox in Colorado, but it was white instead. Still beautiful, but not what was expected.)
In front of the trellis there'll be a big bunch of white peonies next to a stand of dutch iris, and in front of those will be some foliage of lily-of-the-valley. And maybe lambs' ears. On the other side (oh yes, the trellis is split up by a tall, slim window, which will act as a gateway, complete with stone path painted below) the clematis will thrive (the first side being the rose's side), and there'll be a clutch of lavender in the fore.
So far, I've got one direction of trellis up. Tomorrow I'll get the other side up, and hopefully start on the iris. Or lavender.
Yeah.
I'm aiming to get the 'ground' work done (sorry) by the time I leave. Anything else will be gravy. It would be awesome to get the clematis in as well, but I'm not going to push myself into ill-health.
When it's finished, it'll be awesome, though. Is that arrogant to say? Maybe, but it's true. It'll be awesome and envy-worthy. *nods*
So, while here, I went to a "medical intuitive" who came highly recommended. It was interesting. She was definitely intuitive, and for the most part I think I agree with her suggestions. The only one I don't is the soft sell on Isagenix stuff, but I'm only, erm, cynical on that front because she's adealer distributer. It may indeed work wonders, but lordy, is it expensive! Compared to amazon supplements, anyway.
However, that little niggle aside, it was an illuminating session. I got some vega allergy/sensitivity testing done, and, surprisingly, I was only super sensitive tofive six foods: wheat, spelt, soy, brewer's yeast and alcohol. Oh, and cane sugar. Not dairy (though it still makes me cough), not peanuts (which still make me car sick), nor any nightshades. *shrugs* No fruits or vegetables of any kind, in fact.
Besides lentils. Damn it. And corn. Both of those are mild, though. A once-every-four-days kind of avoidance.
Granted, I was a hard test 'cause my Raynaud's was flaring. Damn purple fingers.
Anyway, it turns out I'm probably copper deficient. Because of that, zinc is not my friend. I also need to be taking sarsaparilla. No, I don't have syphilis or such. I do, however, have skin problems including eczema. It's supposed to be for more than that (like regulating the hypothalamus), and be a miracle block shifter in my body. We'll see. So far I haven't had any ill effects to the tea version. I'll see how the pill form goes when I get back home.
She also suggested yarrow for my circulation. I looked it up... Um, yeah. I'm not sure when to try it, though I think it might be good to drink before painting. However, I am leery, as I do seem to be allergic (or sensitive) to just about anything that looks like it could be a weed. (Though perhaps I should try it here, so that if I do have a severe allergic reaction, at least I wouldn't have to pay for the trip to the hospital?)
Anyway, I'll be looking at my vitamin and mineral intake a lot closer from now on and see what makes a difference. And I will do my very best to avoid wheat (blah), spelt (not difficult), soy (bugger of a bear, that one... worse than wheat!), sugar (maple syrup and honey are okay, so that's fine by me!) and all alcohols. The only one I can foresee a problem with is that I won't be able to use Listerine any more. Fortunately, upping my dose of vitamin C to over 10g a day seems to be helping my gums tremendously, so maybe I won't need it?
Speaking of health, it's late here, the nail clippers are cool enough to use (I boiled them), and my stomach is nearing the point of growling. So, I'm off.
Sorry for being absent in your elives, though I have been skimming through, trying to stay current. Except for the exchange, where I'm hopelessly behind, not having read anything since getting here. Ach well. Maybe I'll catch up next month? Or August?
Cheers!
PS: Oh, and did you know that raw turmeric is a pain and inflammation reliever? Nifty coolness.
PPS: Oh, and apparently, I bring spiders with me. My parents swear their house was spider free until we got here. A likely story! (Though interesting, if one is to believe in spiders being a sign of needing to vent, creatively speaking. I've never lived in a spider-free house...)

Date: 2010-06-26 10:11 pm (UTC)Of course there will be picspam! There will be mural picspam, there will be flower picspam, there will be garden picspam, and there will very possibly be model train picspam. There will not, however, be glorious sunset picspam because those are the sunsets where I've forgotten my camera. So far. *shrugs* That to go along with the lack of wildlife picspam, because the animals still hide whenever I come round. :-D
