I think it's negligent and stupid. Thing is, I gather there have been major shake-ups in the school (it was recently designated a Title 1 (5? 8?) school, meaning it's failing the Every No Child Left Behind Act's tests in math and reading. Communication between everyone seems to be much more strained, and the paperwork... OMG. If being around kids all day every day didn't discourage me from becoming a teacher, the paperwork now required would! (Not to mention the total lack of autonomy.)

Anyway, the teachers are in a separate system from the cafeteria are in a separate system from the after-school program are in a separate system from the nurses office... etc., etc. The channels of communication at that school are not at all clear to me. All I know is if you want something, you need to talk to one of the receptionists.
