Prompt: Crookshanks, poor thing, has gone to a better world, and Hermione gets herself a new pet. The chemistry between Severus and her new pet isn't quite what she wished for.
“Severus?”
“Yes, dear?”
“Have you seen Taro?”
“Taro?”
“Yes, Taro, my new pet.”
“You... got a new pet?”
“Yes. I swore I told you about him.”
“Didn't happen to be a ferret, did it?”
“Yes!"
"Brown with a white muzzle?"
"So you did see him! Do you know where he is now?”
“...”
“Severus?”
“...”
“SEVERUS!”
“I'm sorry, dear, but it was in self defense.”
“Severus?”
“Yes, dear?”
“Have you seen Taro?”
“Taro?”
“Yes, Taro, my new pet.”
