Getting the hang of Tuesdays?

Yesterday was the meppy day, to borrow a favorite word from Page, as it was "Strengthening Immunity Concentrations: Kickass" day. Both Page and I are fighting off something of a bronchial nature, with him bearing the brunt of it because he refuses to go to the lengths I go to. I don't know why an almost nine-year-old would have quibbles with ingesting raw garlic and ginger, or taking sedate soaks in a brew of salts, ginger and apple cider vinegar. On the plus side, it was only a minor case of pulling teeth to get him to take proper puffs from his inhaler every four hours.

Today, on the other hand, has been okay. Surprisingly, considering Page woke up at 5 and had to be herded into my bed (with another two puffs) in order to get more sleep.

I even got to school in time to get a decent parking spot (though those are becoming easier to come by now that the semester is wearing on).

Unfortunately, my crappy camera struck again, and I will need to retake any and all portraits I took for this week's assignment because there just wasn't enough light. Well, I will admit that it wasn't all my camera's fault this time. I wasn't as vigilant about composition and focus as I should have been. Ach well. Fortunately, I have another chance to get some pics tomorrow afternoon (when it's not rainy, cloudy, or otherwise dim and dull).

(Side note to self: Remember to retrieve edited photos from school folder and post some!)

Actually, that "have another chance" bit is a really good bit of life nowadays. I am hesitant to say it in case I jinx it, but it is possible I have finally found a compatible bunch of freaks (their term, not mine) to befriend IRL. Not only that, but with people who have the time and interest in befriending me back! It only took, what, ten years to find them? *rolls eyes at self* But I have Page and his problems to thank for the find, actually, as all their kids are similar ages with similar problems. (The age range is actually something like four to thirteen, but they all get along pretty well.)

Another good thing is that I took an A1C test this morning (and somehow managed to not screw it up this time, despite having to use both packets because it seems that little blood collector doesn't like runny blood. It was only as the hole was clotting up that it decided to take any of the blood at all), and the result was a beautiful 4.7. Granted, that doesn't mean I'm not spiking and crashing, but it does mean that my blood sugar levels aren't too shabby on average. Yay! (one less thing to worry about!) Perhaps it's just my blood pressure I'm having problems with, and if it is, then exercise will solve that. Eventually... When I get around to doing something on a regular basis...

But now I'm just blathering, aren't I? I should either get outside and plant my poor plants or get to reading for tomorrow. Oh, and finish up the diatribe on how sketchy scientific studies of nutrition are in actuality (because of the list of variables they don't factor in) for my class tomorrow. Or, you know what? I can do both!

Ciao!

It makes me happy to hear you sounding so positive.

Yay for IRL friends. Fandom is great - buts it's good to have people nearby as well!

Hope you're both feeling better soon.
