I hate my memory
I went down to the HP_Con to meet everyone and, you know, I can remember two real names out of seven or eight people. And I can't remember their usernames. Shitshitshitshitshitshit!
If you are reading this and I haven't friended you, please friend me! I like you, I just have a terrible, terrible, terrible memory for names (and dates. And fics. And general stuff...). Honestly.
I didn't actually attend the convention because of various constraints (you know, time, money, whatnot), buuuut friday morning, firefly gave me a call inviting me to a dinner gathering at one restaurant, then another restaurant... and finally deciding on an Irish restaurant just around the corner from the hotel (or under the hotel, if you want to be specific).
Good food and convos were to be had. I had the seat directly across from Ollivander!Droxy, so I very possibly had the best view, too (though I gather that the waiter was quite nice as well).
Then we went up to Firefly's room and talked (but didn't drink). Then Droxy came by and started the disillusionment process, which, you know, was rather fascinating and had to be seen through (cynic that I am), so three of us followed her to her room to watch.
That sounds pervy. It wasn't. Even if I did fondle her nose rather extensively.
Then I had to go home because it was late and I had an hour's drive (and an early morning of manual labor) ahead of me. Before I left, I made the decision that I would come back the next night, if only to see Droxy as Snape. I was going to be in the general area anyway!
So, Geoff, Babe and I went downtown after our afternoon of visiting friends. Once at the hotel, I changed into my dress (Droxy promised me a dance with Snape if I dressed up) and went to pose with her. I hate posing, let me just say that right now before the pictures show up. She kept telling me to relax and act natural, but, well, yeah.
But it was cold out, I had a very tired husband and son waiting for me back at the hotel (the ball took place across the street at "the Castle"), and I didn't have tickets to the ball, so I took my dance, a quick kiss, and ran back to the hotel.
So Whee! It was great ot meet those I did meet, and I wish I'd had more time to talk and get to know everyone. I also told Annie to give Dicky a message as well as charging her with Mundungus' houswarming present. =)
Anyway, it was lovely and if I had more memory or braincells available, I would go on and on about it. I don't though, so I will stop right
Now.

And I know what you mean about names!

I'm absolutely terrible that way, especially in group situations where there are a lot of names at once. I can only remember the two (now four, as I remembered droxy and snapeophile's names) names because they reminded me yesterday when it was just the three of us.

Even though I've lived in NH for six years now, I haven't really been around much. Knowing people in different parts of NE helps get us out and about and see what's here. Even if going out is a rare occurrence. ;-)

I know Snape made you a bit nervous, he seems to have that effect on people. I did think the pics came out decently. So you now have "art fodder" to work with, even if my Snape isn't nearly as good looking as your art!Snape.
It was a thrill to meet you. XD I love meeting people from on line.

It was lovely to meet you, too! I'm sad I won't be able to attend Azkatraz with you all, but at least I got to meet up for a little bit. And maybe at some point we'll (the collective) organize a meet-up for the flist someplace cheap...er.
