Bitch, bitch, moan, moan
I forget, every season, that the real reason why I stay inside all summer long isn't because it's hot out, though that's miserable enough. It isn't because there's pollen out there; there are drugs for that. It's because of the evil, horrid, little vampires that are e v e r y w h e r e. And it isn't even that they leave huge itchy welts. No. It's because they make me sick. Literally.
Not with West Nile, EEE or any of the other skeeter-spread scary diseases out there, but just general bad-allergy-reaction sick. So, today I am going around doing everything that needs to be done with a cramping stomach, stuffy, achy head, weak lungs and general malaise.
Bah.
Tomorrow is the last day of school for Babe. *sigh* At least next year he'll be there for three days. And next year is only a few months away.
On the plus side, we have three months of not having to wake up early. That's somewhat of a mixed blessing in the summer, given that the mornings are the best time of day, but it's something.

I'm about to go and research methods for keeping the little bastards out of the house that aren't potentially dangerous for #2.

I do have, or did have before I forgot it at the party on Sunday, two kinds of bug repellents. The familiar poisonous deet thing, and then a lemon/eucalyptus thing that smelled strongly, but wasn't deadly like the deet.
Screens are the best defense for the home, however. Unfortunately.

*deep breath* I hate them too.
