Should be finishing my homework right now
But I'm too sleepy. (Also, there are only two pages left to read. I can do it before class starts.)
Turns out magnesium, of all things, is what my body needed to reduce the cravings for tea. I guess I've been stressed?
I guess one of the things that's been stressing me out is that Geoff and I have agreed that we need to start the search for a new (to us) car soon. Right now, our '99 Camry is still alive and pretty reliable, BUT, it tears through tires because of some weird front ... can't think of the term that comprises axle, suspension and all that ... thing going on, which is, itself, starting to squeak again (recurring problem; might be the other strut wearing out). Two of the windows are basically non-functional (one won't open because it's literally glued shut, while the driver's side window is just a PitA to get closed if it's rolled down), the check engine light has been on, continuously, for about three years now (it goes off just long enough to pass inspection, then comes back on), it sometimes emits smoke when it starts and the transmission is getting worn. Also, I guess the fuel-injector is getting shot, because every now and again the car will need to be revved constantly for a minute or so when it's started 'cause otherwise it'll stall. That's a rare thing, but happening more often. Also, it's burning gas liek whoa (a small, known problem, but an expensive one to fix, thanks to problem part placement).
Anyway, the gist is that our 13-year-old car is dying (but it only has 139,000 miles on it! Waaaaaah!), and it's time to replace it. We're both hoping it'll last another 12 full months (or 24?), but I suspect next spring will find us in car lots. joy.
Also, we want a manual transmission. Both because it's more fun to drive and gives us more control in all weather, but also because Page will be learning to drive in no time flat (okay, really it'll be 8 years), and if we buy a newish car soon, it'll be the perfect age for him to learn on without us cringing every time he asks to go out. However, finding manual transmission cars is getting trickier by the year. After doing some research it seems they are still out there, and they are, for the most part, still less expensive than automatics, but finding used ones in good condition might be a challenge.
Ah well.
Any advice on buying cars, and which cars to avoid/look at, would be appreciated. We didn't do too well last time, it seems, so I'd like to do better this time around.
Anyway, I should go prepare for school now.
