More Monday To dos

Right. This week, I really have to get working.

On top of daily and necessary chores, I need to:
Clean workshop: (in order)

- clean out closets (go through shelves, reorganize art stuff and generally make room, clear off desk, collapse, go through stuff in closet, chuck what isn't beautiful or useful.

And, if there's time and/or energy in the remaining week, or next week:

- finish cutting projects (stair nose, t-mouldings, paneling moulding, baseboards)
- empty and reorganize all tool cupboards and closet in a sensible manner
- sweep and vacuum every surface thoroughly

Goal:
Turn on house fan to clean the air, rather than just send dust everywhere and clog up filter.

That should do me for this week. Yeah. Just doing the closets will take all of this week, I expect. No wonder I've been procrastinating!

I'm on day two of the RCAF X BX exercise plan. I am pleasantly surprised that I am able to do almost all of the lowest level exercises without too much strain, although holding the partial sit-up pose for thirty seconds is pretty rough. Fortunately, tomorrow has more reps, so that's less time holding each rep. Yay!

I think I must be cheating on the running in place bit, though, because it does not take me three minutes to do 50 reps and 10 hops. But, it won't be too long before I'm up to 100 reps, and then it will be work to speed up enough to advance a level. I hope to be able to get through Chart I in the recommended time (24 days).

(If interested in what I'm talking about, check out http://www.corvedale.previewurl.com/5bx/xbxPlan.pdf It's a sensible, progressive plan that is intended to make you fit gradually without making you feel like throwing up.)

Anyway, that's my newest project, which is all part of the wanting to move thang. I can't work at my current energy and health level, but if I do this plan, I should be fairly fit in only a few months. Fit enough to work, anyway. Work AND take care of Babe. Nothing like having something real to work towards. (Although Geoff may not be totally on board yet, so...)

Anyway, life's pretty good. Suicidal friend went back to NY to stay with his mom, which is excellent. He had virtually no support up here, so I'm happy he made that choice. It bodes well for him.

We had a busy weekend. Saturday we went to a friend's son's birthday party. Babe was the only other child there (thank goodness!) and the two boys had a blast, mostly in the pool. We were both pretty zonked by the time we got home. Then yesterday we went back to Boston to meet up with an old college buddy of Geoff's who then took us sailing on the Charles. The wind was pretty low, which, to my mind, was an excellent way of introducing Babe to sailing. (Babe also got to steer for a good long while, as well!) Again, we were all pretty tired by the time we got home, but it was good. Although I did need a nap this morning to recover.

Oh, and a bonus to yesterday was that I learned how to kill the two flies that have been bugging the hell out of me without a fly-swatter. Rubbing alcohol! It blinds them and makes them easy targets. (Normally I would feel bad about such cruel actions, but these flies have been REALLY annoying for the last week. Ylech!)

So. Life's pretty good. Getting better, anyway. Yay!
