Well, I don't have time to watch an episode of Buffy and work on my art before getting Babe, so I might as well natter into thin air here.
Things are going better. My back is still sore, though the pain pills are taking almost all of the edge off now, so there's definite improvement. It still doesn't like me though, which makes me sad. I like being liked, you know.
My parents are very, very generously helping us out with our insurance, so we will all stay covered. This takes some (considerable) stress and strain off us.
With Geoff's help, I made twelve quarts of spaghetti sauce last night. The process was a bit unorthodox, seeing as we had to switch from one huge pot (whose bottom had burned) to two smaller pots (8 and 6 qts), but that made things easier in splitting it up into spicy and not-spicy. Since it's been so very long since I've made sauce, I overdid the chili peppers a bit (I added two smallish ones to the 8 qt pot), so it was mixed with the non-spiced sauce upon decanting.
Our freezer is full now. And we will be having noodles (or steel-cut oats or yams or spuds) and sauce all week, I think.
I went to the dentist today. Managed to read two chapters of "Under the Jolly Roger" while waiting for any action to take place, and then, zip, it was over. Well, the drilling-filling bit was over. The cleaning took the same amount of time, if not longer, and was actually less pleasant all around. Even with a very gentle hygienist. But the upshot is that I now have a pretty(ish) smile again with no black marks or anything.
Now if only my nose would thaw out.
Aaaand, that's about it. Tomorrow I'll go to the chiropractor (they're closed today) and hopefully get this back thing sorted out (hmm... a back counselor...) and... Yeah. That's that.
