Varia; or otherwise known as "Oops."

Need to get my head together and figure out what needs doing this week. It's rather important that I do so. (Oh, look! New library book!)

Am obviously doing way, way better than I was at this time last year (or the four years prior). The three of us rode our bicycles to church yesterday, which is only about a 5 mile ride total, but it's something I've never felt up for before. We took the long way home, stopped at a new park (it opened two weeks ago) and as we were leaving, I wiped out trying to jump a curb. Oops. Fortunately, I was wearing my (new) helmet, and the only damages I incurred were a couple of bruises and a scraped-up knee. Which didn't even hurt much (until this morning, when I put iodine on it. I guess taking the bandaid off tore it open again. Oops).

My bug suit arrived, so I guess I need to spray it and then go out back to weed. Yes, I will take pictures. ;-P

I can't complain about the heat. But I want to.

I bought a new bathing suit this weekend. It's a modest two piece that looks rather fetching, if I do say so myself. Of course, the main point of buying a new bathing suit was to get something that doesn't have me stuffing my boobs back in place after diving in. That it looks quite nice is just a bonus. I suppose I'll have to use it at some point this week. After the knee scabs have fully formed, I think.

Cherries are in season. I ate three pounds in two days. Oops.

Finally saw "Benny and Joon" yesterday. Johnny was such a pretty young man. (Yes, he's still good looking, but he isn't exactly "pretty" anymore. Just gorgeous.)

After reading Heyer's "Bath Tangle" I'm finding that I'm not really into the uncivil, rapscallion types of heroes anymore. Or maybe Rotherham was just a badly formed character. *shrug* With exception to a few witty passages here and there, I didn't particularly enjoy the book, though, as all the female characters were not particularly likeable. Either they were nice and dumb or smart and vulgar. As if there's no middle ground... Bah. Also, the ending was way too obvious from the get-go. Ah well. It did have its fun bits, though it really was not up to par for Heyer.

But now I need to go do something completely different. Le sigh.
