Serious to silly.

Should video taping the police be a crime?

It seems to me that in these types of cases (taping public misconduct of police), it would be a travesty to civil rights and democracy itself if it were outlawed!

(Wiretapping? Seriously?)

Putting up a video of an ugly conversation between officers in the locker room or their car or such is a different matter. But that's not what is being defended here...

It's hot and sticky out. It was supposed to be cool and dry. I feel betrayed. (Damn you, weather.com! Damn you to hell! I cry fervently into the night sunshiney air, then collapse sobbing onto the divan.)

I am procrastinating on finishing the linen closet painting, because I am now at the point of no return sanding. Yes, I have a power sander. Yes, it's only about fifteen minutes' work. Problem is, it's fifteen minutes' work out in the muggy nastiness (Daaaaaaaaammmmnnnn youuuuuuuu! echoes off the empty moor suburban walls), which is a very different experience from fifteen minutes in any other weather conditions.

Although I will relent to say it's probably better than doing so in a blizzard. Or a hurricane (strapping down the boards and door would be way more bothersome than fifteen minutes of sweating) (not to mention the risk of electrocution goes up by rather a lot) (though I wouldn't have to worry about the dust being a problem).

But, besides the sanding bit, I only have touch-ups left to do in the main cabin. Er, cabinet. *cough* Yay!

(Caffeine must be kicking in. I seem to be getting a mite loopy.)

Geoff and I have been watching the first season of Heroes lately. It's too bad it went down the toilet in subsequent seasons, as this first one is pretty awesome. Hiro is so cute. And Mr. Bennet (Claire's Dad) is so damned creepy. The last episode we saw was the one where the Haitian finally speaks. He and Eden totally made up for Claire's (understandable but still annoying) whininess.

I would love to see "fan" fiction by the writer of that episode.

Even though I haven't been reviewing (BAD Avery! BAD!), I have been enjoying this last week's exchange pressies. The word section of my brain is closed for construction (renovation? rehab? I can only hope), so I'm afraid the most people are getting out of me is the oh so wonderful "ditto." I've been trying to keep that response to a minimum, but... Well, I suppose it's better than nothing at all... Maybe?

It's only a month till school starts. o_O *throws hands in air and spins around madly, laughing like a maenad* Next week starts swim lessons. *smiles sedately*

I (finally) have a plan established for the prepping of the Overlarge Mural, and it will be implemented this weekend. I will need Geoff's help because it is Overlarge. I still haven't figured out how I will actually paint the thing... Ooh! Idea! Coolness! Wheee!

My back is feeling better thanks to several nights of more sleep and a good adjustment yesterday, I think. It still burns a bit, and I still don't risk twisting, but it was nice to hear my spine popping as I did my morning stretches today. It's been too tight to allow for natural readjustment for quite some time now, and the release is appreciated. Thank goodness for chiropractors.

Caffeine makes me ridiculously happy. Or just ridiculous. *happy shrug*

Sardines and a couple cloves of minced garlic on top of barely wilted, fresh mustard greens is really an excellent lunch. Would be better with dessert, however. Something chocolate. Or lemony.

*sighs* I suppose I've stalled enough. I doubt I need to say it, as it's implied throughout this post, but life is going a hell of a lot better now. Being able to do things helps tremendously, as does being in a happy hormone place (and having given up the acupuncture and half of Geoff's psych sessions, we have enough money to cover bills again! Whee!). Gotta figure that hormone thing out.

But yes. Now that it is the hottest and stickiest time of day, I must go out and labor in it.
(Daaaaaaaamn you, weather man! Daaaaaaaaaaamn youuuuu!) *headdesks*

Cheers!

Ridiculous or not, this post is lovely to read!
