In the introduction there's a bit of comparison, although they do note that the NY Review of Books has a similar selection of non-blah ads, but yes, terribly positive rather than terribly honest. Honesty is often so much more iteresting.
Now that's a great ad. It would probably get replies, too, although perhaps not the sort you would want to deal with. Although, is it possible to have uncomplicated sex with emotional intimacy? Is it possible to have uncomplicated sex, period?
