Yesterday, for the first time in months, I cleaned off my dried-out pallette. I applied colors to the cleaned pallette and then mixed them. I picked up a paintbrush. I loaded the paintbrush. I then managed to take the enormous step of applying the loaded paintbrush to canvas.
Meaning: I PAINTED!!!
Whee!
It's been a while. I forget how good it is, and how orgasmic it can be. Not that it was an exceptional painting session or anything, but it's good to get back in the saddle.
Now to just finish the damn painting. It refuses to be sped up, although it was nice to find that I can listen to whatever music I want (Garbage version 2.0) and still paint serene scenes. It might have been even better for the music. :-)
Anyway, it's still a WIP because it does refuse to be rushed and is taking foreeeeeeeeeeevvvvver (I only worked on the flowers last night. That's it. Two flowers for two or three hours. Sheesh), but here's what I worked on yesterday.

Quality of photo is crap, but as it's a WIP, I'm not caring too much. The shiny area is where I applied oil to dust the painting cause it's been way too long since I've worked on it. Want the paint to have a good sticking surface, you know. :-)
Oh, and I got the commission. Will be practicing drawing and painting horses from now till August. Hee!
