A quick note before I go to bed...

Does anyone know of any nice, easy (and SHORT) benedictions to sing at the end of a rather sectarian service? Right now we sing a modified version of "Go now in peace," but the musical directer just found out this week that the version we sing is one that the author expressly disapproves of. So we shall soon be changing benedictions, I suspect. Since we are the Church of Respecting Everyone, rather than the Church of This Is Our Way, So Nyer, or the Congregation of As Long As You Tithe Here We Respect You varieties. Which, in this case, is rather too bad.

I like our little round. It's one of the things that really attracted me to this church!

But the author doesn't want us to be stripping the word God from her verse, so we shall cease and desist now that we know that. Bah.

So! If you have any recommendations, I would be very interested. Something uplifting, unifying and on the shorter side. And preferably without cranky (living) authors who object to nontheistic ways of worship.

(Go now in peace, go now in peace
May the spirit of love God surround you,
Everywhere, everywhere, you may go)
