I don't know if any of you have taken doxycycline, or Doxy Droppings, as Geoff kindly refers to them, but I swear... I have just placed them just under the cillins (allergy) and prednisone to be #3 drug I never want to take ever again. That's above "why the hell does anyone take Speed recreationally" sudafed.
Just give me the z-pak and be done with it! Yeesh. And, the worst part is, both the doctor and pharmacist didn't give good instructions, so it probably hasn't been as effective as it would have been otherwise, and, in the end, I'm glad I'm going in to the doctor (my REAL doctor, not the "Oh, it's just cellulitis" chick (although, to be fair, this time it was cellulitis, not shingles, thank God) next week because I'm not convinced that the infection has gone away. Yes, I know it takes time, and the drug should continue to work for another week or so, but...
Long complaint short, I'm never taking Doxy Droppings again if I can help it. Horrible, horrible drug is worse than the infection, which probably would have gone away eventually all on its own. (Okay, not completely true, but I still say this suffering was unnecessary.)
