Sep. 14th, 2007 09:09 amThis makes me happy. I'm not exactly a fan of Amish isolationism, but I can understand it. It's so much easier to keep to your values when you are in a community that shares them with little or no access to the communities that don't.
What also makes me happy is the statement: "...forgiveness is a journey, that you need help from your community of faith and from God ... to make and hold on to a decision not to become a hostage to hostility. It is understood that hostility destroys community." (Emphasis mine.)
