That's fun to say out loud. Try it!
I've had a headache all day, probably brought on by the alarm clock which I set in a bout of timely caution. (har har) I went to bed early-ish last night, but I spent all day yesterday cleaning, so I don't think that I got enough sleep to recoup. Upside is that the kitchen is cleaner than it's been in too long - though at least one burner is still stinky - and I had little to be embarrassed about when the playgroup came over. Assuming they didn't see the cobwebs, that is. ;-) (Oh, and the cardboard house was a huge, huge hit with the kids, and I did get compliments from the moms.)
And, fortunately for me, the headache was fairly mild this morning while they were all here. It only became really noticable after I'd finally had a chance to sit down and eat. And then it just pounded me until I gave up an hour ago and took three advil, hoping that the bottle from upstairs isn't tainted like the bottle in the kitchen (I think) was. Damn expiration dates.
So, the advil combined with neck stretches combined with the water combined with the tea combined with the chocolate combined with not moving around much makes for a much happier Elizabeth than I was earlier. But still not up to going out and getting some essentials (non-expired advil and diapers... the latter of which is a rather desperate thing).
And, unfortunately, it is not a case of sending Geoff out for them, because he's in Buffalo until who-knows-when. Okay, he's almost certainly going to be back for the weekend, but we're both expecting a full week-long absence. And then he'll likely be going out of town again next week. Fun!
I won't complain about that much, though, as he's been traveling much, much less, and it's looking like he won't be traveling too much now that the company has found some replacements (though they are still desperately short on the employees whose job it is to travel).
Hmm... what else? Babe's stitches are out and the placement of his scar is such that he's always going to look like he's a bit surprised. It is a nice contrast to his arched brow on the other side. (Oh yeah, did I mention that Babe gashed his eyebrow open? Yeah. Five stitches. He was terribly brave about the whole thing, only really objecting to the heat of the light they were shining on him. Oh, and the stitching itself.)
( Two pics )
I had a dream about painting the other night. Made me go to the craft store to see if they had the supplies necessary for the painting I wanted to do, but they didn't. That just means that someday soon I'll have to go down to Boston to the real art supply stores down there. Oh. Shucks.
Speaking of painting, do any of you have interesting photos of clouds that you'd be willing to let me use without incurring copyright infringement? *looks hopeful*
Now that spring is getting here, my fingers are almost literally itching with the need to paint. I keep looking up at the portrait of my dad and long to get out the glazing materials right away to finish it properly, smells and kid be damned. I haven't though.
Anyway, Babe's getting insistent on me paying attention to him now, so I shall go.
