Cold

I think the heater was on most of the night trying to keep up with the base temperature (65). It's coooooold out there. Okay, not nearly as cold as it was out in the west last week (that was bitter and unusual), but cold enough.

I am just starting to get moving, so I doubt I will get a whole lot done today beside going caroling in the freezing cold (high is supposed to be 29). I'm going to start my breakfast and work on the winter lily while it cooks and then I'll tackle everything else. Except the outdoor stuff. That's Geoff's job.

Now I need to go oil up (literally; it helps keep me warm) and eat up.

Happy Saturday!

"This bill is a legislative train wreck of historic proportions," the party's leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, said at a news conference.

That this bill looks like it's going to pass as it is currently written is... actually, I don't have words to express my disgust.

Though way to go, Democrats. You have paved the way to hell with all your good intentions of bipartisonship. Congratulations.

Hopefully Geoff will see the sense in getting the hell out of this country as soon as possible. I really don't have any desire to be a serf, thanks.

I didn't get nearly all of what I wanted to get done today done. In fact, I can't think of one thing that actually did get completely done, besides the caroling. Which would have been a lot more fun if we hadn't had to keep coaxing Babe to come along.

I think he's coming down with something. Damn it.

So tomorrow I need to:

- Go to church (and miss choir rehearsal because of a prior commitment, boo)
- come home, eat
- finish flower (dig out pvc pipe from backyard snow)
- finish xmas presents so they're ready to send out Monday
- start making xmas goodies

Doesn't look like that big a list, but I know that the flower is going to take at least an hour and a half, probably more like three (I still have to figure out how to attach the lights to it, though I'll probably go with tape again). The xmas present wrap-up (figuratively and literally) can be done by Geoff, so I suppose I shouldn't worry too much about that. He can do one thing while I do the other. Should be done in two hours tops, right? *hopes*

Hopefully all of us will sleep well tonight. We'll need it.
