Last night I dreamt of seeing a tidal wave (or five) go up an inlet. This morning I read that the Soloman Islands were hit by one. Freaky.
The thing that impressed me in my dream about the tidal wave was how very fast it moved. The first wave wasn't tall at all. It was only visible by its speed as it pushed its way upriver. If I hadn't already been up a hill, there's no way we could have escaped. It was really quite frightening.
The last tidal wave in the dream was the highest, and it was also the slowest. It was more awesome than frightening as it roared up the river, foaming at the crest. I hoped no one was upriver, though I knew there were towns that would be affected.
There was a lot more to the dream than that, but I think it was mostly the X-Files episode we watched before bed affecting my subconscious than anything. After all, Babe is not a special needs kid. At least not as far as I can see and certainly not in that way.
