Rant rant rantity rant, with a twist!
Apr. 17th, 2010 11:58 amSo, I'm not going to rant today, but I'm linking to a rant someone else made. I don't agree with everything he says - some of it due to semantics/word usage, some of it because he exaggerates a bit much - but I thought it interesting, especially combined with an article I just read about health insurance companies (come on, you knew that was coming, didn't you?) and how they invest in fast food companies.
Yeah. That's right. American health insurance companies own almost $2 BILLION worth of stocks in fast food.
Of course, what better way to make money for health insurance companies than make sure there are lots and lots of sick people? Especially when everyone is required to buy insurance from them.
I really wish that the shrewd minds who manage and market for the medical/military complex (industrial has kinda been wiped out for the moment) were more altruistic, but, well, how can you compete with greed?
