Page* woke up at about 5 this morning, and immediately came to talk to me. I looked at the clock and I thought it was 6 something, so I let him rattle on, even as I dozed in and out of sleep. Next time, I will be asking him what time it is. His eyes are just fine.

But it seems the steroids are working. He did not cough during the night, and coughed only a couple times this morning.

He's also talking up a storm.

Oh. My. Lord is he talking up a storm. Way more than his normal chattiness. I pity the teachers, even though I did instruct him to twiddle his thumbs should he feel the need to talk or fidget when he needs to be listening. We'll see if that helps.

Some more babble about Page )

And some babble about me )

* For the last week, I've been reverting to calling Page "Babe" again. So far I've caught it each time before actually writing it, but the urge is strong. I'm guess even when he's "Knight", I'll be tempted, as he will always be my baby, won't he? ;-)

- Seeing color in Page's cheeks. I... it's been a while, and I can't believe I hadn't noticed just how sickly he was looking. It's that whole can't see the forest for the trees, thing, I guess. Anyway, it's lovely to see pink in his cheeks, and to hear him inhale deeply in a way he hasn't been doing for quite some time. We may be able to teach him how to control his breath yet!

- Clean sinks. Especially the tooth-brushing sink. I need not fear for the lives of the family now.

- Banana nut muffins. Probably not good for me (as I can't stop at just one), but yummy and worthwhile because of their craving-reducing yumminess all the same.

- Silly friends.

- No riots in Boston.  *thumbs nose at Vancouver in immature fashion*

- Heating pads and naproxen.

- THIS!!!!

I love Shaun Tan's works, so I literally squeed and bounced and smiled like a loon when I opened this birthday present.  Guh!  His work is so fantastic, in all senses of the word.  Thank you so much, S!!!

Questions from [livejournal.com profile] pokeystar

1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Victoria, BC. Or Wellington, NZ. Or possibly Hobart, Tasmania, though I haven't actually been there, so I don't know. Someplace smallish, temperate, green and hilly (preferably mountainous) on the ocean. If I were wealthy, I'd love to live in Evanston, Illinois, as Lake Michigan is big enough to count as an ocean. (Yes, I know it isn't temperate at all, but it's beautiful enough to be worth it.)

2. Which would you give up first: books or art? Why?

Probably books, though it would be a really tough call. Books don't make me satisfied the way painting does, though. Painting, when it goes well, is damn near orgasmic, at least on a spiritual level, while books don't give me such deep gratification. (I really need to paint more.)

3. What is your favorite time of day?

Sunset. I'm a sucker for pretty colors.

4. If you had to order a hit on someone to save your child's life, who would it be and why?

Dick Cheney. Because it would help the entire world, not just my son. Besides, you know he'd be behind the coercion somehow... ;-)

5. What word do you hate?

Should. It's a horrible, debilitating word used to control.
