Jul. 14th, 2011 06:05 pmWell we got here. Besides the beginning and the ending legs of the travel, and the travel portions themselves, it was a day of only barely making it. We left Boston fifteen minutes late, so when we got through customs in Toronto, we found out they had bumped Geoff and Page to different flights (I had no checked bags, so I got to stay on the booked flight), with Page leaving at 3 (an hour later) and Geoff leaving at 10:30 (a billion hours later). Obviously that wasn't going to work, but as it turned out, the second leg was delayed by 20 minutes, so they were able to do some incomprehensible negotiations to get our seats back to us, and we made it through security and everything before they even started pre-boarding.
*breathes heavily from the hurrying*
Then, it was a bit late taking off, so when we got into Vancouver, we ran out, got a taxi and made the ferry by, oh, a minute. If that. We were the last ones on.
So basically, in-between the actual traveling bits, we were one rushed trio all day long. And it was a loooooong day. 16 hours from door to door.
But it's good to be here. Geoff has been asleep for most of the day, which is excellent (silly man stayed up the entire night before travel, working). I've had a nice nap and yummy food. Page has his cousins to play with (and Page's presence alters the dynamics so that they are now alternating who is against who, rather than teaming up against Younger Girl), and fun people to talk to when we're all awake.
So life's good.
Oh, and did I mention that it's not hot? Yeah. It's lovely, even if it does rain all week. =)
