Taking a break from all the madness for a moment. Feels good to sit down and relax. I'm almost done, though. Almost. I only have to organize my art supplies and move them into their new home, and throw out all the trash I've unearthed, and vacuum the office rug, and scrub the family room floor (which looks great by the way) and glue on the rest of the baseboard. Shouldn't take more than, oh, say, five days. Oh, and that's not counting the reorganization of the drawers in the dining area. That really needs to be done soon.

Of course, that's assuming the neighbors don't let their house fill up with tobacco smoke again. It leaks through the walls and air vents, and besides reeking, I get migraines from the smoke. Saturday I had to lie down for hours, which of course, disrupted my sleep that night. DH later said he knew my head must be hurting when I swatted away his hand when he tried to scritch my head. Usually I purr when he does that.

But, despite headaches and bouts of nausea, I have made progress. Lots and lots of progress. Must now return to the drudgery, though.

Will be back sometime. Promise.

Snape's Journal

March 2, 1998

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate my life? Have I mentioned how much I loathe Potter? Have I ever mentioned that there is almost certainly a corollary between those two statements?

Today I caught Potter and Miss Weasley doing something I wish I hadn't seen. Granted, it wasn't as bad as those Hufflepuffs on Valentine's day, but still a blow to my delicate sensibilities. As if that weren't enough, Albus had to float by at that moment and comment blandly about love, and romance, and how refreshing it must be to have hope for a full life. Then he winked at all of us, and dragged me off to an impromptu meeting.

Maybe I should revise my first statement. Maybe it should read, 'Have I mentioned lately how much I hate Dumbledore?' Etc.

I was so looking forward to giving the Prat another week of detentions.

The meeting was about the progress (or lack thereof) that everyone is making towards stopping the bill. The only real "contribution" was made by Miss Granger. She had the idea of composing a report on eugenics through the ages. It focuses mainly on Muggle society, but one has to start somewhere, I suppose. She planned to compile all the information into a newsletter and distribute it for informational purposes until I pointed out that we aren't supposed to know about the bill, and Albus' information gathering might hit a rough spot if we tip our hand at this point.

Then Lupin pointed out that leaflets are a better way to go, anyway. I fear I must have snorted, for both Molly and Albus shot me identical glares, though I saw Minerva and Lupin exchange looks. I don't think any of us have the time for one of Miss Granger's treatises right now.
