Mar. 14th, 2006 01:14 amColds suck. They make Babe short tempered, and me and DH tired. Not to mention the cyclical nature of the beast. I thought Babe and I were getting over it yesterday, so we went to church as planned, but by the end of the day I was starting to cough more frequently, Babe was cranky as all get out and DH was saying he thought he was coming down with it.
Grr.
I'm just glad I got the shopping out of the way while I had the energy. Well, I'm also glad Babe has started eating and drinking again. That was a bit worrisome. Now if only is cough and night pains would go away, life would be peachy.
Thanks to this wretched cold, I've been completely sleep deprived, which *whinge* is completely and totally unfair seeing as colds make me sleepy! But, noooooo, Babe kept waking up, which meant that DH and I kept waking up, each of us taking turns with who got up to tend to Babe, who did nothing more than complain about our presence.Ungrateful little beggar. */whinge*
I know he was in pain, and it was terrible not being able to do anything to help him. One night, the night I got about an two hours of sleep (6-8 am, interrupted by a change of location from couch to bed after Babe and DH got up at 6:30) I finally put Babe down in our bed because he refused to be left alone. The reason I got so little sleep was because when I finally went to bed, he started using my ribs as a springboard for movement, which, for some reason, woke me up rather effectively. The next night he had a similar problem, but he seemed content to fall asleep on the floor. I wasn't content with that though, so I put him on the futon instead. He objected a little, but was way more content that being in his crib.
So, anyway, that's my week. That and lots and lots and lots of screaming Babe. He really hates having his face washed or nose wiped. Not to mention the "I'm bored, but don't have the energy to amuse myself, so tend to me NOW" stage of illness/recuperation.
His being cute is saving him right now. That, and he seems to like me at the moment.
And on another front, I just sent off chapter 3 to the beta again for the final look over. Don't know when she'll get to it, but just thought I'd let you know there's progress on that front. =)
