I have a working computer at home, but I'm currently att he library. Both the boys are pissing me off something fierce, and I had to get away before I lost it. Which is unfortunate, because I'm hungry.
Babe will not stop talking. I know he needs attention, but when I told him (many times) that I needed to be left alone (at least until I finished a very late, blood-sugar-was-crashing-fast breakfast), he left my physical space, but kept yammering on and trying to involve me in his games. Nice of him, but totally infuriating.
Geoff got home from church, later than expected, and instead of responding to Babe's joyful "Daddy!" with joy of his own, he grabbed the fucking trash mag off the counter and sat down to ignore the poor kid.
Given that Geoff is pissing me off in other ways as well, this was the final straw and propelled me out of the house. On my lame ankle.
(And this is where the whining proper starts.)
I messed up my ankle last week doing my exercises (jumping = bad) and it's only gotten worse over the last seven days. Granted, some of that is definitely due to my diet degrading while I was out of town (wheat and refined sugar/corn syrup being the biggest offenders) and not taking my cod liver oil and not getting a lot of sleep, but... my body is messed. I figure it'll be at least a week before I'm able to start exercising again, and then I'll have to start from the beginning. Again.
Actually, I'm just going to check out some yoga DVDs from the library and try that instead. Running (even in place) and push-ups and such are not MCTD friendly. They just aren't.
I shall ignore talking about politics because that only raises my blood pressure (granted that needs a bit of raising...) and gives me conniptions and a bit of the general ol' rabies symptoms. Needless to say, I fear for this country. Or at least, I seriously doubt this country is going to stay one whole country for many more years.
(ow.)
On the plus side, Buffalo was beautiful, Fort Niagara was interesting, the falls spectacular (from what I could see... not having gone over to the Canadian side) and the drive there was gorgeous in the extreme. This is a seriously beautiful part of the country, driving from here to Buffalo. The Berkshires, the rolling hills of upstate NY, the green of western NY... Gorgeous.
It was a bit dismaying to see the classifieds of house prices, though. A real reminder that Buffalo is in the midwest and that this recession is far from over. God.
But anyway, that's that from my side. I'm trying to catch up on this week's posts, but you all were talkative!
But now I have the newest Stephanie Plum novel to read, so I will be set for good humor for the rest of the day. Who knows, perhaps by the end of the day I'll actually be willing to be around people. Not likely, but possible.
Anyway, cheers from here. Aren't you glad I'm back?
