To cocoa or not to cocoa. That is the question.

(And if I do indulge, would maple syrup taste retched as the sweetener?)

Why is it so much harder to go back on a diet than stay on it?

*le sigh*

In other food news, I've been eating a lot of fish lately. It's pretty much my only protein source these days, seeing as everything else sets me off (including too many eggs). Sooo, I've been getting creative.

Yesterday for lunch, I had pan-fried salmon with beet greens, green onions and garlic on top of a bit of rice. Damn, that was good! I think it was better than dinner the other night which was salmon atop caramelized onions, steamed kale and wild blueberries, though that was also very yummy. The texture of the kale was a bit... odd (very, very chewy), but otherwise it was quite tasty. Salmon and blueberries go very well together.

And I've decided I do not like sweet potatoes and zucchini together. I hadn't intended to cook them together, but ran out of time and space, so dumped the sliced zucchini in with the home-fried sweet potatoes (with cilantro). Not a bad result per se, but not very good, either. The sweet potato plays up the bitterness of the zucchini which overpowers the cilantro.

*shrug*

No idea what's for dinner tonight. Salmon and something. Maybe I'll change things up and make mashed carrots and rutabaga, roasted kale and... salad, I suppose. Or actually make another dose of green soup. That seemed to do me good... I just wish it didn't taste so much like parsley. I do not like parsley goop, I do not like it, you-know-who.

Right. Back to work. Very close to finished the first draft of exchange piece. Very close. I just hope it doesn't need too many revisions.

What about aguava as a sweetner?

One of my favorites is to take leftover salmon and mix it with a raspberry vinaigrette and add celery and whatever else sounds good (onion, etc) and serve on a bed of lettuce.

It's an Ina Garten recipe that I never quite remember but kinda make up.

Wow your menus sound delicious to me at least! Woo hoo on exchange fic! How about honey as a sweetener? Or does that trigger everything?
