So, for some odd reason, we started patronizing the local video store again. Last week it was a consolation prize for not being able to see Toy Story 3 at the theater 'cause they were sold out, but tonight it was just because.
I wanted to rent Enchanted 'cause I heard it was a hoot, but they didn't have it. So I picked up Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek (Reloaded), and Where the Wild Things Are. Which I will be watching before I consider showing it to Babe.
Hopefully Geoff and I will get to watch all of them. I'm sure I will, whether Geoff joins or not.
Had a good day today, actually. Started off oh-so-peachily when I fell getting out of the car, banging up my knee and palm (I tripped over my long skirt), which was injury added to the insult of needing way more sleep than my body seems willing to give me. :-(
BUT, the day got better. We went to summer church, and while the service was only meh due to presentation, it was really good to see everyone again. I spoke with a fellow artist, and we agreed that we need to get each other painting more often, and so we shall do that. And I gave my friend a big hug because she had to put her dog down yesterday (he was 17 and it was definitely time, but still). And I talked with another friend to arrange how and when to help with the disability process. And, at the end of all that, we got an invitation to Choir Director's pool for the afternoon! Which is, basically, how we spent the rest of the day. And the water was so warm, even I went in. And stayed in. (That's how hot it's been around here, cuz that ain't no heated pool!)
I need to figure out a way of training Babe not to yell when excited, but otherwise, it was all good. Oh, except for the burn Geoff has on his shoulders. Fortunately, he doesn't get sick quite the way I do from sunburns. He'll just be sore and thirsty.
And now all that's left for the day is to decide which movie to watch tonight. I think it'll be a Star Trek movie, I just haven't decided which one. I guess it depends on whether Geoff will join me, since he hasn't seen Insurrection yet. :-)
Hope all is well with you, and that those who are traveling are having safe travels.
