Woke up from rather nasty dreams this morning to the sound of Babe's matter of fact cry, "Mom! I threw up my water!" I was tired enough that it took two repetitions (and getting up) before I knew what was going on.

Since he said it was only water, and he seemed chipper enough (and I was really tired), I told him to get a towel and clean it up. Which he did with minimal coaching. Meanwhile it turned out that Geoff hadn't left for work yet, so after a few minutes he came up and cleaned up what didn't look like it was just water, though it's actual substance (and provenance) is a question that will never be answered (or thought of ever again). Which was all well and good because I had gone back to bed.

Unfortunately, sleep didn't come. So, I am up and rather unhappy about it.

On the good side, I have already cleaned the downstairs bathroom floor, toilet and one wall. It still stinks, though, meaning the other three walls really need to be scrubbed as well. I hate scrubbing walls, especially because there isn't a visible difference when done. Even though the cloths show that it should be visible. Bah. (and ick.)

The entire house stinks. Mostly, I have no idea what or where the smell is. Of course, it doesn't help that each floor has a distinctive smell. Basement smells of skunk (lingering from the last skunk's visit to our yard?) and damp. Living area smells of Ick (that lovely combo of dirty kitchen, garbage, sweaty shoes and dust), while the bedrooms are relatively tame and only smell of humidity, humanity and dust.

Oh, and the bathroom smells/ed of a men's bathroom, which is why it got the honor of being top priority. It retains that honor till it is done, done, done.

(I am on a water break.)

At least dinner is easy tonight (turkey fried rice). And something that Geoff can easily do since I expect I will be curled up on the couch whimpering by that time.

I hope I'm wrong about that last part, though. The fact that I am actually doing something (anything) is a good sign, even if I'm grumpy about having to do it. Maybe the iron I started taking yesterday is working already?

Anyway, I should get back to it.

See you on the other side.
