(Not that the Democrats are much better...)

Slept eleven hours Friday night (after having two big doses of caffeine that evening so I'd be somewhat coherent for Trivia Night) and woke up feeling a lot more... sane. Seems a week of not getting enough sleep by a couple of hours every night really isn't okay with my body.

But yesterday was great. At least the first half. Got to the post office (though I only remembered after mailing the package that I hadn't included a note. Dur!) and then on my way back home stopped in at Sally Ann (Salvation Army) to drop some stuff off and look to see if they had any clothes made of a light moire fabric. As I made my way down the second (and last likely) aisle, I found a smallish skirt. I looked at the green price tag and winced, as $6.59 was a bit much for a scrap of fabric for my next project, but I figured I'd check out the bulletin board to see if there were any specials. And hey! Green tagged items were half off! So I took it up to the register and was rung up. For $1.00. Seems the bulletin board didn't have the right information! So that was utterly awesome, especially as I was on the point of despairing because moire seems to be out of fashion and therefore not available at my local dinky fabric stores.

And then, after I got home, I managed to work for quite a few hours, trying to catch up on the art work I'd missed due to the crappy-busy week. I wouldn't say I got four days' worth of work done, but maybe two! I'd say I'm about a week away from completion assuming I get time to work on it this week. (Which is a false assumption.)

Last night was not great as I vented at Geoff (fairly or unfairly, I'm not sure), and it was made worse by my back deciding it didn't like me anymore just as I was lying down to sleep. Hence, I didn't get much sleep. I got up before six because I didn't want to wake Geoff up before the alarm (church appointment) with all my tossing and turning, and didn't go back upstairs until the alarm went off ("Sultans of Swing"), and Geoff was moving. Then I humbly asked him if he would rub my back.

Seems my back didn't like him, either. He said there was visible swelling on the side that didn't hurt, and his gently rubbing his hands over the side that did hurt made my muscles flinch. It hurts, precious. :-(

I ended up staying awake for another hour so that I could eat before taking a few pain pills.

My back still hurts, though not unbearably so anymore, and I imagine that I will be taking another round of pain pills when this round wears off, but at least I got another couple of hours of sleep after the tylenol kicked in. Even if I did spend the sleep dreaming about Elmo and really grisly murders...

I hope that maybe later in the day I'll be up to editing the rest of the vacation photos I want to post here, but no promises. I'm going to take it very easy today in the hopes that this coming week will be relatively painless. Geoff's traveling this week, and I have dental work tomorrow, so I have no idea how it's going to work out.
