Page read his first book!!!! *bounces*
So, the grandparents sent Page a new book that arrived yesterday. It's another of the more charming Mo Willem Gerald and Piggie stories (I Love My New Toy). Page didn't seem all that interested in even finding out what book it was until the after-dinner stall.
Geoff decided, when Page finally asked for it to be read to him, that this was a perfect opportunity for Page to read it himself. Page did not want to do that. But, with a little coaxing, and (more effectively) some maneuvering, he started reading it. And continued reading it. All. The. Way. Through! And then he went back to the beginning and read it again, and this time with the proper inflections and everything.
Yes, we coached him a little on some of the vowel sounds, but for the most part, he did it all himself. I am so incredibly pleased by this (in case you couldn't tell).
In other news, it is bitter outside. It's only 14 F (-10 C)(oh, with wind chill of -2/-19), but seeing as yesterday was so mild (39/3), it feels way worse than it is.
Also, the pomegranate/cherry jello I made is really very nice.
Oh, and Geoff has regained his position in my good graces by fixing the computer. Properly this time. Unfortunately, it seems that the problem with the video stuff is that our bandwidth has shrunk to practically nothing, meaning I need to call (or get Geoff to call) the phone company and complain. We pay too much for DSL to have dial-up bandwidth.
