I hope you have good luck with airline tickets. I can't imagine any events that would have prices climbing that quickly. The only major thing going on in Seattle is Seafair and I just don't think that pulls people from outside Western WA all that much. I'd maybe fly directly to Vancouver; the recovery time and peace-of-mind might be worth the additional cost. Either way, I wish you much luck.
