too bad it photographs like crap.

I like this painting. In life it has a sense of depth that the photograph just doesn't catch. Bah! It also has an incredible sense of vibrancy that doesn't translate well. It feels alive. And the impression of the image changes from different angles.

Overall, I'm very pleased. Just not with the photograph which makes it look pretty damn amateurish. Ah well. It seems a lot of my work isn't photogenic, just like me!

Oh my GOD, Avery, that is beautiful. If it looks this good in a "bad" photograph, I really grieve that I cannot see it "live". It doesn't hurt, of course, that I have a very strong color sense, and you have used my favorite colors. It's gorgeous.

This is unbelievable. I can't imagine how it looks in person, but it looks amazing in the photograph. I think this may be my very favorite thing of yours that I've seen. The colors and the vibrancy... Wow!

WOW. I *really * love that piece...I think it looks fantastic. If this is "crap" -- then it must look amazing in person. Love it love it love it...

I would really prefer to see this in person. I can imagine it having a totally different look, more shimmery, with the light shifting around.

It already looks amazing in the photograph!

Oh my god, that's beautiful.

Um. Would you consider selling it, and if so for what price?

(okay, so I am head over heels with the coloring; I confess it)

Wow, love the coloring on that one. It's like you're under the ocean looking up as after a boat goes by. Now that's an unromantic description but it is a lovely piece.

Thanks! (And that's why it's untitled. I want to know what people see, unromantic or not! :-)

Not too completely amazing... the photo does get the gist across, but, yeah. Thank you!

It's not totally different, but it is different. It won't be terribly shimmery until I varnish it, though the play of light through it is better in person. The shadows are what shift around, actually. It's kinda interesting.

Thank you!

Er, well, it is for sale, but, erm, I'm putting it at approx. $300 unframed, so it might be over your budget restrictions especially with shipping costs. Tell you what, though. If I haven't sold it by the time you visit Boston (or whatever city we're close to at that point), I'll give it to you. Deal?

No, keep it and sell it. It will sell, and it deserves to be sold and do that bit more to get your name out there.

I tried to be virtuous but then I stared at the picture some more and realized that I'm just not that virtuous. Okay! *goes to buy Boston tickets*
