Yes, I know Romney actually won, but only by 8 freaking votes!

Yes, Santorum has actually been consistent, and that's what appealed to a lot of the voters, but really?! Is that the message you want to represent you?

Iowa, home of the first legal bi-racial marriage laws, and recent legalization of gay marriage, I am disappointed in you.

(Or were you doing what I had been planning on doing and voting for him just because he's got no chance against Obama?)

Also, bad show, Ron Paul. Bad. Show.

I'm not sure we can gage the country by Iowa at this time. You do remember who they caucused for the Republicans four years ago. . . .

Personally, anything that leads to more people Googling "Santorum" I see as a positive result.

True... (And no, I didn't. Huckabee and Santorum do have certain similarities...)

True... But will the definition still be in first place if he keeps winning?

There are more people in this country who think Santorum is a nutjob than those who think he'd be a good president. Yes, I know that half the people in this country are below average intelligence, but 95% of women have been on birth control at some time in their lives. Someone who is against birth control cannot possibly be a mainstream candidate.

Mmm, perhaps, but I don't trust the people of this country when the mob mentality is running so strong. Look at the continued decay of our rights and, well, 8 years of W.

The tea party freshmen are no longer freshmen, and people are rightfully annoyed with obstructionists in congress- even the New Republic was annoyed with the republican leadership and said, "great work ceding the payroll tax cut ground to Obama." And Santorum/Perry/Bachman/Cain are/were candidates, not sitting presidents. And Ron Paul's solution for solving the economic crisis is to lay off 250K government employees and abolishing unemployment. Like I said. Not mainstream candidates.

Hopefully the anger at obstructionism will prevail, but the thing is, the mob mentality takes rationality out of the equation. People make dumb decisions when afraid, angry or otherwise emotional, and this country is very, very emotional right now.
