Jul. 14th, 2012 05:48 pmYou know what's unpleasant? Plucking hairs from halfway-healed scabs. Fortunately, it didn't hurt too badly (stung a bit, but no real pain), but it looked absolutely nasty. But now it itches like mad under the neosporin and bandaid.
The reason for that unpleasantness was that Page and I went to a pool party, and it did get warm enough to need to go in the water. Three times. Obviously, the chemicals in the pool are pretty corrosive, as the scab started bleeding after my shower and just peeled off, easy as that, when I went to see what was up.
*shrug* I'm rather happy I got the chance to pluck, though, all said.
*contented sigh* Yeah, it's been a good day. Even if I did have to say goodbye to Geoff this morning. He's off to Louisiana for two weeks of conference set-up hell. Which, fortunately, is air-conditioned. I don't think he'd survive otherwise, given his proclivity to heat prostration nowadays. Still going to be a miserable, overworked two weeks, though. Poor guy.
On the plus side, the remaining two pounds of beef in the fridge will last that much longer without him here to help eat it. ;-D
What else? I tried making dairy-free ice cream yesterday, using coconut milk. I over-sweetened it, unfortunately, but otherwise it turned out pretty well considering I don't have a churn. Next time I think I'll add pureed white beans to the mix to help with the texture. *nods*
Anything else? *strains brain* Nope. Or rather, can't tell as brain is deded from all the sunshine andswimming splashing. So, I hope your weekends are going well. I think I need to go lie down and read some more now. Until I fall asleep, that is. :-)
