I'm so bloody tired of people treating pro-choice as being "pro-abortion". In most cases they make it sound like everyone pro-choice is pro-abortion in the sense of "always abort; abortion is always the only option".

Which, just. No.

Also, the impression I've got of "pro-life" people is that a huge share of them stop caring the moment the choice to carry the child to term is made. The impression I've got is that the "pro-life" people are often also those the most ardently anti-any-sort-of-state-support - the people who believe that "well, you had a baby, deal with it". There is remarkably little interest in those babies once born (never mind the mothers or their lives, of course).

I'm vehemently pro-choice, and I'm also pretty anti-abortion - I don't think there is anything wrong with that stance. I've always considered that if I happened to get pregnant, I'd never abort unless for medical reasons - but I've also always felt pretty secure in that I could deal with having a baby, even if unplanned and even if I had to raise it without a father involved, without having to worry about how to feed it or clothe it or provide for it. Other people have other circumstances and other reasons.
