Sometimes being a grown-up is no fun.

Ach well. There are rewards. Eventually.

To Do:
Acct: Finish reading and note taking on chapter 10. Only 20 10 more interminable pages. yay.
Bio: Read chapter 2

Cooking:
---reboil stew; store
---make focaccia?
---make sourdough? (if not, add more probiotics and start process anew)
---make (omg, yet more?) chicken stock
---cookies?
---roast pork (and squash, brussel sprouts, onions and mushrooms(?)) for dinner

Cleaning:
-- tub
-- sweep? (Maybe wait until Wed, when it's supposed to rain)
-- sinks. All three of them.
-- myself

Go soak myself (separate from cleaning). But not my head. Neck, though!

Go back to bed and sleep for five hours.

I'm tired. I woke up at stupid o'clock (too early to get up, too late to make going back to sleep a worthy endeavor), and I'm grumpy because it seems like my body has been wanting to wake up then, even though it kills productivity for the rest of the day when I do get up then. Even with naps. Bah.

I did get back to sleep, but I'm not sure it was the right thing to do.

Hmm. What else?

Test drove an Elantra on Saturday. It was a nice car. As nice as the Corolla, better driver's seat than the Prius (though on the whole the Prius was nicer), and generally something drivable. I wouldn't be sad to own one. At the right price. The one we test drove was not the right price, seeing as it wasn't loaded with features or anything, though I'm sure we could have bargained it down to something closer to the right price had we been in buying mode.

Things I really liked:
- The driver's seat was by far the most comfortable, supportive seat yet. It's an area where Toyota now fails to impress. (My little 81 Corolla/Tercel was quite comfortable! The Camry was comfortable for many years... Perhaps my back has changed, rather than the company's designs?)
- Eco mode. Granted, it's just a light indicating that you aren't pushing the engine, so, yeah, not something I'd buy for.
- The seat release button/pulley in the trunk. Practical place to put it! Also, the trunk looked reasonably roomy. 2'x4' sheets aren't going to fit within the trunk itself, though they should fit with the seats down.
- Zippy enough. (Not as zippy as the Altima, but better than the Prius, and about on par with the Corolla.)
- It's silly, but I liked all the little storage spots. Although the glove compartment was a bit small. (The arm rest compartment was huge, though!) It did have those back of the seat mesh bag things for the rear passengers, which is a definite plus.

Things that weren't great:
- Turning radius wasn't stellar. Not hideous, but not great.
- More cramped feeling in the front than some sub-compacts we've driven recently (the Mazda 2, for example). Dunno. The slight feeling of claustrophobia might have been as much due to the big sticker on the windshield as much as anything. Possibly even the black interior coloration... However, the small side rear views didn't help.
- Visibility was on par with our Camry. Better than the Prius on the whole, but the rear-view mirrors were way better on the Prius. And Corolla.
(Unrelated to the car itself) - Nice salesman used the guilt trip factor. Which is too bad, 'cause he was nice.

I think this coming weekend we'll test drive a Ford Focus. It's the only one that we're guaranteed to be able to find in manual transmission, so that's got me excited (and a bit nervous; I haven't driven a 'standard' in more than a decade). On paper, it also looks to be the best deal. But, well, I'll reserve judgement until after the test drive.

Aaaaaaaaaand, I think that's all the stalling I get to do this morning. Unfortunately.

And I'm not going to have any tea to brighten my day, either. I'm trying to repair my stomach, which has been objecting to the brew. <--- blatant pity ploy

;-D

Hope you all have a nice day, if it's at all possible.
