Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] beletseri

1. Someone knocks on your door at 2 a.m., who do you want it to be?
Someone safe with good news.

2. Your boss tells you he/she will give you a $20 raise if you'll do your job naked, do you stay and take the raise?
Only if I wanted to gross them out. (I get purple when cold.)

3. Put yourself in a nutshell:
I don't think there's a nutshell big enough to fit me in nowadays. :P

4. Ever seen a ghost?
With my real eyes? no. However, I am convinced that a deceased family friend (Al) was my spirit guide/ guardian angel for a while there. I had a dream ages ago (about two years after he died) where he came to my parents house, but cheerfully refused to talk to me. He was picking someone up, and would only talk to them. When I woke up I just knew it was a warning that someone close was going to die. Of course, that was assuming the person was ready and willing. I have mentioned that people in my family don't die unless they're killed off, right? My grampa had a blood clot release from his leg around the time the dream indicated, but, well, he's still around.

Anyway, Right after I had Babe, I had a series of dreams featuring Al. He came to pick me up and drove me around. He talked to me and told me to rest. Then he dropped me off at home, and told me that it was time for him to go, and for me to stay.

So, have I seen a ghost?

5. Happy with your body?
Pretty much.

6. A reason you would move to Iceland:
Move there? Erm... If I were given a BIG grant to find inspiration from that landscape.

7. A place you've lived that you miss:
Melbourne. Very much.

8. A job you would never do, no matter how much you were paid:
Anything daycare. I don't want to end up in the news, thank you very much.

9. A band/group you thought was cool when you were 13:
Depech Mode

10. You have a nightmare, who's the first person you think to call?
Another story: DH and I had been going out for a few months and we took a trip to Montreal (for a conference). One night, I had the worst nightmare of my life. It was tactile. I thought I was awake, because everything seemed to be the same. Same room, DH right by me, asleep, same lighting! I thought I was having trouble falling asleep, and to amuse myself, and keep from disturbing DH, I tried tracing his profile over the edge of the bed (above the floor). When I did so, I felt something under my hand where I was tracing. Then I heard voices. Speaking in tongues.

At that point I started freaking out, believing that the demons from my recent dreams were real and were coming to get me. As the voices were getting closer and focusing in on me, I reached over and touched DH for help, and, suddenly, all the voices stopped. I woke up an instant later. (DH and I both were in different positions, which was the only way I knew it was a dream.) DH was my safe haven.

So no one, as long as DH is next to me.

11. Wanna have kids before you're 30?
More? No, thank you. *runs away*

12. A memory from high school:
Lying in one of the nooks around the student center area with my purple arms crossed, trying to pass as dead. Should have taken a more haphazard pose, now that I think about it. Ah well. Live and learn.

13. Ever had a crush on one of your friend's parents?
No.

14. Naughtiest thing you've done at work:
Played solitaire all day. (Not like there was any work to do, though.)

15. Do you look more like your mom, or your dad?
Both pretty evenly.

16. Something you've always wanted to learn how to do:
Design and build furniture.

18. Where you'd like to be in 10 years:
Content with my life, and preferably making a living from my art, or whatever I do decide to do.

19. Something you learned this year:
Greeley Park is cool! As long as you stay to the high ground, cause the bugs down near the fields are killer.

20. What do you want for your birthday?
Realistically? A tire for my bike. And maybe a nice meal that I don't have to cook.
In my daydreams? Hmm... probably I'll want plants. Or gardening supplies, like maybe a composter, or a rain barrel? AND a nice meal I don't have to cook.

21. Name four things you did today?
1. Made the bed
2. Got milk (and bananas and strawberries, too!)
3. Took Babe to watch the construction happening in the parking lot at DH's work.
4. Caulked the stairs.

22. Last item you bought yourself?

No. DH is a safety nut.

24. What did you have for breakfast?
Toasted O's

25. Name a celeb you have a crush on:
Erm... I don't. Once they're taken (or I find out they're taken) I don't crush on them anymore. Though John Cusack might still be available... ;-)

26. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
Between 3 and 8, 9 if I'm really lucky. I need at least 8, however.

27. Have you ever been tied up?
Yes.

28. What do you wish you were doing right now?
Either writing or reading something new.

29. Who's the first person in your phonebook on your cell?
I don't think my cells have that kind of technology yet. Give it a hundred years, and get back to me.

30. Last time you witnessed a fight?
High School.

31. Do you like your hair pulled?
Gently, yes. Although I prefer it just being fiddled with (I looooooove that, actually. I would purr if I were able to).

32. Name three places you would like to travel to:
1. New Zealand, south island
2. PEI
3. Ireland

33. Do you know how to ice skate?
Depends on body memory. I used to know how, but it's been many, many years (over twenty, I think).

34. Name something you like that's out of the ordinary?
Blizzards, although fog is better.

35. Is bigger really better?
Ha ha! NO!

36. Name a friend you have the most in common with?
I'll go with my sister. We're not terribly similar, but we do have a lot in common.

38. What color are your toenails? Toenail colored. (lovely answer, beletseri!)

39. Last person you talked with on the phone?
DH.

40. Do you own anything with a skull on it?
Yes. A shirt I inherited from DH, as it was just a touch too snug for him. It fits, and does look good, but it makes him look like he belongs at the Man Hole (a now defunct gay bar in Chicago. It was always worth passing by just to see what the sign had to say. For example, their Halloween sign said: "My Man Hole is Scary!").

41. Traveled to Europe?
Yes.

1. My Mom
2. My Husband

Depends

47. Ever had a black eye?
Except for allergy shiners, no.

48. Where do you rent you movies?
Netflix

49. Have you ever worn fishnet stockings?
They're requisite for the Slut White costume.

38. What color are your toenails? Toenail colored. (lovely answer, beletseri!) Thanks! *snickers*

Gosh I hate nightmares that resemble real life. I had one the other day where I was in bed and my oldest came downstairs and was talking on the phone real loud right before going to school, and she left my bedroom door open so I yelled at her to close the door. So she did, and then she left, but then I was laying in bed awake and I heard a horrible sound coming from Annabelle, (our hound dog that is outside) and I just knew that someone had just slit her throat and was killing her, and she was making this horrible death sound. *shudders* It was awful, and so freaking scary. And I just knew that the person that did it was doing it to keep her from barking while he broke in the house and killed me. I got up and put my shoes on and was hearing him fiddle with the back door upstairs when I was doing my best to slink out of the house and to my neighbors when I woke up sweating. The dream freaked me out bad enough that I went upstairs to check on Annabelle before grabbing my tennis shoes and my mace before going back downstairs and crawling back in bed. It took me a while to fall back to sleep.

Poop on the dreams that want to freak you out extra bad by seeming real. :-P
