Oct. 24th, 2005 06:20 pmI've created the sketches for four out of seven illustrations for my sister's fairytale. Finally. It's only taken, what, 15 years? Now, don't laugh at the quality, as it is only a sketch I created on Paint. The finished illustration will be either pencil or gouache. Haven't decided yet.
Yes, you can laugh at the fact that I use Paint to create anything.
My medium is not digital; I'm a traditionalist. I love the feeling of the actual medium (or medium's medium), whether it's charcoal, pen, pencil or paintbrush, in my fingers, and seeing the image that results from my moving a few tendons in a proscribed way. I like the textile nature of hand's on creation. For images, anyway. Can't read my own handwriting, so writing stories that way is really inefficient and frustrating. Besides which, who doesn't enjoy the use of drag and drop? Best thing about these new fangled typewriters! (That and spell-check)
Now I only have to come up with another three images and cover-art. I've no idea about the cover art, or rather, no idea that actually goes with the style of the illustrations... I know I'll figure something out... Oooh! Just had an idea! Excellent!
Disclaimer: Okay, you'd have to be delusional to think that, a) I'm JKR, b) this is for profit or c) that the characters are mine. Really, really delusional. Therefore, I'll probably forget to include a disclaimer for most of the story, but it doesn't stop it from not being mine, and you know it.
Summary: Follows Snape's writings leading up to, and including, the storyline of "Marry a Choice." The parody here is a little less subtle, in case you hadn't figured that out already. Assumptions abound, including the massive one that Snape has a sense of humor (of which there is no evidence in canon).
AN: All mistakes are my own. Or Snape's.

I hate my life. I hate Dumbledore. Bloody omniscient interfering old coot. Just because I tried to slip a little Veritaserum in Minerva's drink... He has no sense of humour where she's concerned.

Date: 2005-10-25 04:21 am (UTC)The idea of Snape's POV has been boppin around my head for a while, and I finally got in the mood to write it. It is a WIP, though. One of the reasons I'm posting here instead of TPP or elswhere.
Well, I think sarcasm is a form of humor, but a really nasty type. Granted, this is coming from someone who, as a piddly runtling of a seventh grader, made sure NO ONE messed with me for fear of my retorts. As for Snape laughing at himself... yeah, he needs to lighten up.

Date: 2005-10-25 04:26 am (UTC)I'm glad you're finding it amusing. I just hope I can keep this one from getting angsty. Or so dark it's hard to see the humor. Or remaining unfinished.

There, got that out of my system (damn ellipses!) Oh, and should have warned you (and everyone else) that the language in Snape's story is going to become less than, um, polite soon. I usually don't use bad language unless the mood really demands it, but in Snape's case... (oops, not out my system yet). Hope you don't have delicate sensibilities.
