grr and other random thoughts

Let's just say that I'm looking forward to the end of the month. I can't say more than that for fear of invoking the Evil Eye of Shiv's.
Also, how do you tell someone that their ill-treatment is due to systemic racism? I chose not to say anything, but... I hate that aspect of this country, btw. I really do.
Anything else pissing me off? No, not really. Life's been good to me so far.
Looking forward to my birthday in less than two weeks. I've given Geoff one hint about what I want, and I suspect this is one he'll manage. I asked for an egg beater. You know, one of those hand held, non-motorized whirly-jigs? I want one. There are other things I want as well, but that one seems well within reason.
If I knew where to find stone jewelry, I'd ask for some tiger's eye, whether a necklace, bracelet or whatnot, but I don't know of anyplace around here. Perhaps the tiny health food store...
ERGH!! the keyboard is misbehving gin. The first leter of the lphbet is refusing to work on demand. And the d is flaky.
I'm still trying to decide whether or not to go on the church retreat this summer. I really wanted to, but at the same time, it's relatively expensive snd there are other things money needs to be spent on... like new glasses prescription. Business card payments. Food. Slip cover (and, believe it or not, that is falling under the necessity category. The holes are getting bigger and more populous, and if I don't do something soon, we'll either be couchless or spending a bundle on a ned couch, which I really don't want to do at this point in Babe's life). Little things that combined add up to about the same amount as the retreat.
Next year?
Yeah. That's what I said last year.
But, I need to go now. Geoff was a sweetheart and installed the livingroom AC yesterday, but we need to get some foam to pack around the open spots. Oh, and I need to get a t-shirt for making my dressform. =)
The only other thing of note is that while I was sleeping in (instead of going to church and singing like a good girl) was that I dreamt of going to church and not singing. And, while I was talking to everyone after the service, I noticed one of my older friends who seemed very upset. I went to give her a hug of support, and she spurned me. It bruised my heart.

Date: 2007-06-03 10:02 pm (UTC)If you don't mind mailorder, Fire Mountain Gems has a large selection of semi-precious and precious gem stones. It's a fave spot of mine to order stuff when I'm not buying locally.

I did see some things I liked very much, so thank you for the suggestion, although I'm also going to look locally a bit more. There are probably some gems hidden around town somewhere (sorry for the pun).

Date: 2007-06-04 06:24 am (UTC)This a-key not working (but only occasionally) is a right nuisance since "a" seems to be one of the more frequently used letters. Granted I only used it five times in the previous sentence... *shrugs* I'm not sure where this disruptive behavior stems from, though, as the keyboard seemed happy enough after I took it apart to clean it the other week. Ah well... Perhaps there are crumbs or some such.
