I just got a review that made me very, very happy. One of those "oh yeah, that's why I write" reviews.

*smiles*

Powerful, beautiful, perfect. You are a gifted writer. You can feel the pure emotion that both characters still have for each other. Hermione's ordeal didn't end when she made it back home, and the baby was a painful reminder that there are always consequences to your actions. It seemed to me that Hermione wanted to really hurt Snape with the knowledge of the baby, but she didn't get any true satisfaction from it. I was glad to see that, it meant she is not controlled by her hate and that gives me hope for her future. It is truly harder to forgive yourself than to forgive someone else. It was beautiful to see how much being forgiven meant to Snape. Although Snape seems to have found some peace because Hermione forgave him, willingly giving yourself to death isn't really forgiving yourself. I suppose it was enough for him. This really was closure for your story. Thank you.

And I don't care if she said it just to flatter me.

Of course, then there's the different squee factor of having a very recognizable name in the fandom whose work I admire very much saying, Heartrending, but so beautifully done. You've rendered me inarticulate.

Thank goodness for loverly reviews and the people they come from!

any author who says they don't care about reviews is an absolute liar. good reviewers and good reviews can make a person's day. Just as flamers can anger and annoy an author.

But 9 times of 10, a stellar review, such as the one above, can make a person's day, week, month!

So congrats you! I've not written for so long, nor do I think I will, so I'll never know how that feels. So I'll have to live vicariously through you.

Very true. We all love reviews, and not getting them is... depressing. Although flamers amuse me more than anything (not that I've had many flames, mind you... I wonder why?)

:-( I'm sorry you haven't been writing for your own amusement, but I'm sure if you ever do get back into posting again, a wonderful review will come along and make your day shiny as well. I'm sure of it because you're a good writer!

oh, hon, that's a wonderful review! They truly do affect us so much and when someone is moved so much to either give you such glowing praise or the latter where they are inarticulate b/c of your amazing writing... well, it's truly something.

Brava to you!
