I must confess that Severus' request doesn't surprise me. His loathing of Potter is well known, and taking the mudblood for himself would be the ultimate revenge on them. Not to mention it is plainly obvious that he has feelings for her.
No, his request doesn't surprise me. It is the opportunity it gives me that catches me off guard. I am still one horcrux short. I have searched high and low; no accessible Gryffindor relics have survived. But, upon hearing Severus' request, I realize that I have been terribly short-sighted.
After all, there's more than one type of trophy.
I will spare the mudblood as requested, but I don't think I shall give her to Severus. He is a loyal servant, but there are some things servants are not fit to handle.
