Poor Babe. He's been on the cranky side the last few days, same as me, but today after he'd finished a snack and got down from the table, he started pulling at his pants and whining, saying, "Hurts!" Well, we figured he needed to be changed, but... Oh. My. Goodness.

Not only was his diaper an absolutely disgusting (he will NOT tell us when he poops, and sometimes we cannot smell it) green mess, the color of which I haven't seen since he was a wee little thing, but he had two giant welts on the inside of his legs. By giant, I mean twice the size of my thumb both in width and length. On both legs! Although there was a bunch of poop, it wasn't a real blow-out, so I don't think the welts were caused by that.

Oh, poor, poor baby! We have no idea what's wrong. Judging by his poo, I'd say he ate something he's allergic to, but he's still whimpering in his sleep after being given a dose of benadryl three hours ago. Also, besides a lollipop Geoff allowed him today, he hasn't had anything out of the ordinary! I don't think there's anything poisonous in our neighborhood, unless he popped a cigarette butt into his mouth and swallowed. Awful thought, that. But I don't see that being a likely option.

Could this be a reaction to a bug bite or sting? If it were only on one leg I'd be worried about that, but it's on both.

It shouldn't be prickly-heat-gone-wild, as it was actually quite cool today... although it was humid. Also, it was like one giant welt divided in three on both legs rather than the chicken-pox-like nastiness he usually gets with prickly-heat-gone-wild.

Chafing is an option, but I can't think of what he could have done to cause that that he doesn't do every day.

Ugh. At least he doesn't have a fever, but I'm keeping an eye on those legs.

I'm worried about him. *pouts sincerely*

I don't like it when my baby's in pain!

There's nothing worse for a mom when her baby's sick. They can't always tell us all their symptoms, and it always seems to happen on holidays or weekends.

*hugs*

If you leave him without a diaper will he use the potty? Azlinn, our 3 year old, used to do that if she had to much acidy stuff in her diet. She would poop and not say anything and when she was changed her little hiney and her legs would look like she was attacked by a flock of mosquitos. We would put her in a tepid bath and let her wander without a diaper for a day or so, and keep her away from fruits and stuff, especially tomatos. Hope he feels better soon.
