Question: How do they deal with the detention with Umbridge? Is it really squirm-worthy or do they gloss over it? Do they show it at all? A sensitive friend wants to know before she goes to see it, and, well, I haven't had a chance yet to go and find out for her.

I'll admit I took this twice. First time I got a deer. I'm sorry, but... no. My spirit animal has always been feline. In my dreams and heart, it's a big cat that's pacing there.

So, I went through it again and didn't think about the answers but answered with my gut and...

Voila!

Your Score: The Cougar

Here's your results! Your spirit animal has a Nobility ranking of 13 out of 18.

Your spirit animal is the cougar. It is a stealthy and deadly protector. With a cougar as a spirit animal, you have nothing to fear in this world. Your life is blessed and you are on the right path. You will still have hard times, but you will pull through them, always stronger for your travails. Congratulations, few are fotunate enough to have such a spirit animal!

***Wondering how this animal was chosen for you? These questions were carefully thought out to see how important you hold certain virtues such as: humanism, self-knowledge, rationalism, the love of freedom and other somewhat Hellenic ideals. Some of the questions were very subtle. Your score was then matched with an animal of corresponding nobility. However, you shouldn't think this was a right/wrong sort of test, but more of an idealistic values test. It's ok to not hold these values, you'll just get an animal spirit of lower stature if you do!***

The detention scene with Umbridge I thought was very squirm-worthy.

You see his hand and the words etched into Harry's skin, but you don't really see any blood. ... Maybe just a little bit of blood.

Hmm... Then perhaps I won't coerce her into seeing it with us.

Thanks!

I think you and I are the only two people in the world who haven't seen OotP yet. I was too pooped last night, and Mom wanted to see Ratatouille again today, so we saw that instead.

LOL! My meme result was a mouse, but my real spirit animal (or Animagus form, or whatever) is a mountain goat. No joke. It suits me to a T.

I haven't seen it either. I popped by here as averygoodun had the same spirit animal as mine. Wondered if we had other things in common. I like mice.

I like mice.

Hee. My first response to that was: "to eat?" :D

To a cougar they would be an amuse bouche' - No really, I don' t put poison down or trap them - living in the country they are a fact of life. I suppose we need a balance of types - can't have too many mice, wolves or cougars. Balance is essential.

Yes, but what a tasty and entertaining appetizer it would be!

Balance is most definitely essential (but not necessarily in sentences as I've just proved). The sad fact is that we've mostly thrown nature out of balance. Of course, sometimes our view of balance is also skewed. For example, sometimes some people neglect to factor in humans in the role of predators. *shrug*

Mice are a fact even outside of the country... they're everywhere. I'm just glad some cats moved in next door a while ago. We haven't had much of a problem since then.

Not just cats. My dear late corgi, Woodruff, killed a few mice both here and when I lived in the city. I agree about the role of humans in the food chain. Nature is cruel.

Aye. My dad's boyhood dog... some type of terrier, but I can't remember what, was actually hired out because he was such a good mouser. (Orchard country...)

Cruel, but beautiful!

Should I run and hide?

No, I'm in my human form and kind to small animals.

We have babysitting issues. Not that we don't have a babysitter, or any number of people willing to babysit Babe, just... who do we choose? Aw, poor baby me, right?

Mountain goat, eh? Stubborn but nimble and sure-footed, escapes dangerous situations easily... Cute and fluffy, too. :D

A mountain goat is pretty much a loner. And eccentric to a certain degree. Uneasy when on flat ground, they prefer the heights where not every other animal can go; it's much more comfortable to stay safe and observe.

Definitely me.

It depends. It's the squirminess (is that a word?) about blood? because you see more blood on Luna's lip during the DoM's battle than in detention. But you see a close up of Harry's hand being cut as the words appear. So if it's cutting she's not comfortable with, I say don't take her to the movie... or be prepared to cover her eyes during that part.

Hmm. I think it's the cutting as much as blood, although she's not a big fan of blood either. I think I'll have to recommend she not see it, or cover her eyes (or go to the bathroom) for those bits.

The cutting, I say to cover her eyes as soon as Harry starts writing with the quill Umbridge gives him. There's enough warning that it is coming so it's not much of a problem.

The blood I mention is not much, Luna gets knocked by a DE and she has a bit of blood on her lip (the usual you get when get punch). If she covers her eyes in that part she'll miss the battle.

If cutting is the issue, you get a closeup of Harry's hand and see each letter appearing. But you know it's coming and could close your eyes for about 30 secs.
