Oh my goodness. I can't write. It's absolute crap. Really, truly.

I think my brain has finally given up and dissolved into a puddle of primordeal goo as it's been threatening to for the last several years. Thoughts aren't forming, logic has abandoned me and story-telling is lost.

How do I get it back?

Sleep more. And/Or wait until after DH. Lol!

That doesn't seem to be possible. Either I sleep 6 hours and have energy for about 6 hours, or I sleep 8 hours and have energy for about 3 hours. I don't understand it. *shrug*

Waiting till after DH sounds good in theory, but what if it kills off my muse completely? Right now she's only in the death throes, but in a week it may be rigor mortis! lol.

Surely DH won't kill your muse - but it might put her to sleep for a bit. I know after each book there are about 2 weeks that I spend just processing, and then I want to write again with a vengeance!

Awwww.

It's that pre-DH funk.

And I don't know why that happens because I know that I'm going to hate this book more than the last.

Yeah, I think it is. But I'm scared that DH will scare my muse away even more thoroughly.

But, then again, I have been complacent about writing AU ever since I entered this ship, so that's okay. :D

Maybe you need to send it to beta? I been working on a chapter of my WIP for 5 weeks. I thought it was awlful, except the last exchange. My beta loved it (not the polite loved it, but truely.

I'm now reading it with fresh eyes and it's not horrible!

HUGS.

Did that. Haven't got it back from beta 2 yet, but... I'm just not motivated to tell this story anymore, which is sad. I hope the motivation will come back, because I want to finish it, dammit!

Thank you! *hugs back*

You too? It's like we're all holding our breaths, and as a result, our brains aren't getting enough oxygen. I daren't write until after DH comes out. Instead, I'm reading like mad, which I highly recommend to anyone who gets stuck. Best of luck engaging your brain again, my dear! ::hugs::

That's an excellent idea. Just set aside those aspects of HP over which we have no control. I think I will read one of my favorite books, "Grass", by Sherri S. Tepper.

Yeah. It is, isn't it? That or our atmosphere is in worse condition than we realized. ;-)

I've been reading as well (trying to rush through all six books in a week... 2 1/4 down so far. Eep.) Perhaps, in fact, that is the cause of my problem. I'm reading Rowling when I should be reading Dickens and Austen. Vikram and Alcott. Authors who know how to write well developed characters and plots with intricate webs.

Hmm. Well, after DH, I'll have lots of time to catch up on good stuff. :D

Aw, heck, I know where you're coming from. It's that darn DH-itis, anxiety over the stupid Seventh Book. Grrrrr. As I noted in my LJ, I have never arrived at a Monday where I wasn't looking forward to the upcming weekend...

But, you know, at this point I almost couldn't care less. I'm actually planning on attending a couple of social things on Saturday that are in no way related to Harry Potter, and probably won't be even mentioned in discussion! That is how unstressed I am about the book.

But you make a good point about it being Monday. Monday's are usually crap.
