Have the spoilers scared everyone off LJ?

You can't let the terrorists trolls win! Fight back by posting! Post about frivolous stuff, post about serious stuff, but don't be scared off by the terrorists trolls!

But really... is anyone out there?

I'm still here. Though, I'm also reading spoilers, so... ;)

But I know a lot of people have decided that it's safer to just hide if they want to stay spoiler free.

Are the spoilers still up? (not counting the people who are spreading the 'spoilers' second hand)

There are communities debating whether the leaked pages are legit or not. All of the spoilers that MOST of them are spouting are from one source in particular. (I saw what they were screeching about, so if you believe that the pages are real, then I wouldn't consider them second-hand. But really THAT is the question... are they legit? That is the huge discussion that's going on right now.)

Each time links to the pages go up, they are removed not long after. But they're there.

*laughs* *shakes head*

Okay. Well... That's the point of spoilers, isn't it, though, to spur discussion and create dissention in the ranks?

I really like the theory that this is a prank by Bloomsbury and/or Scholastic, personally. Talk about easy and (mostly) free publicity!

It truly is funny. I'm greatly amused by the entire thing.

I think that it would be a bloody brilliant stunt by the publishers and JKR... absolutely brilliant! LOL!

And really? How hard would it have been to 'leak' a fake copy? Truly!

There's just enough to make you scratch your head and really wonder what's real. But, I won't believe anything until I either have the book in my hand or get an email from someone I know who I trust.

I'm here for the longish haul (no computer the Night of Nights, but I'll be online until 4:30 that day), and I'm not reading spoilers. Silly people, don't they trust their f-lists? I mean, groups can be temporarily unsubscribed from, and I'm not going anywhere near Yahoo discussion groups until after I read.

Some lucky folks won't be around because they're at Sectus. No fair, that!

It's rather funny. I've been looking forward to this book for at least two years, but am I going to the release party? No. Do I have a book on hold, even? No. What am I doing on Saturday? Going to a pool party. Then, in the evening going drinking with the girls. Neither of which has anything to do with Harry Potter. In any way. /tangent

But, it's good to know that some people - good people at that! - will be around for the next few days. Yay!

Although wouldn't it be nice to be at Sectus? *sigh* Ah well. Next craze.

Don't really see the point in leaving. I don't believe anything I read under the spoiler cuts anyway.... even if one of them are true, the other ten zillion aren't and I won't know which one is right until after I"ve read the book. So... no different than my mind theorizing.

I am starting to get anxious though. I think by midnight on Friday I'm going to be having trouble keeping still!

*waves back* Neither do I. I'm not great at impulse control, but to avoid the net just because of something that might - might - be from the book seems a little ridiculous. But, then again, I think some people don't even want to read other people's theories in case of being spoiled, although how that counts as spoilers, I have NO idea. I'm sure it makes sense to them.

I really, really hope I don't get any more excited than I already am, because I'm not going to the midnight madness. Even though it would be fun. Finding a babysitter for that would be challenging, and going alone would be sad, so...

But it's only a few days now. YAY!

*waves too*

I'm here, and posting, and shall stay here. I won't believe anything until I've finished the book, which should be done by Saturday evening. After that, I'm going to have a stiff drink, either to celebrate or for comfort, and from Sunday morning on I'll be up for any adventure.

Yay! I'm glad some people are still around! I'll probably be around until Saturday as well, but Saturday will be filled with social engagements, so I won't finish until at least Sunday evening, if not Monday. :-(

Naw, I'm here. As I told [livejournal.com profile] snarkypants, I'm sorry I know a bit and glad I don't know more.

I always was a peek-sneaker, and I know the Beloved has a copy on hold at BOREDers, but I'll just ask him to give me a running commentary. Haven't got time to read it right now.

They can take our fandom, but they'll never take our freedom!!!
