Hm. The kid in the pics is mine, but I'm not sure I like how these make him look. One especially makes him look like he's going to grow up to be a real troublemaker. Of course, he's not in one of his "cute" phases right now, either. Probably he'll be out of "awkward" and back to "cute" next week. As for the troublemaking, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now. After all, I'm cranky today because it's hot, so it seems likely that he's cranky too.




I like this one. He looks like himself.

This seems to be a fairly common expression lately. Poor kid. It isn't easy realizing you don't have much control.

I don't know what you mean by awkward, he seems adorable, and so solid, which is to say there is a definite personality there. I've always wondered if the nature vs. nurture people have spent time around many children who clearly seem to arrive wired for certain kinds of behavior/character traits.

Well, I didn't post all of the pictures I was going to ... It's something that is more obvious in life, but occasionally there's something just off about his facial proportions that's more awkward than adorable. It could just be his mood, though, and that's why he goes back to being cute so quickly.

More likely, it has nothing to do with him, and everything to do with my mood. *wry grin*

I can see both so clearly. He's a cheerful guy, but being around the neighborhood kids, he's also becoming a bit of a brat, and I don't think it's all to do with being two since he is openly copying behaviors. But he's a good kidd most of the time. Better than I deserve, that's for sure.
