It's been awhile, but I have just uploaded chapter XVII of "She Married Her Choice" to TPP, Ashwinder and OWL. Yay. It might take a little bit for it to show up on Ashwinder and OWL, but not too long, I hope. :-)

Chapter summary: Lucius' trial and a little group outing afterwards.

Hope you enjoy!

I went back and started reading at Chapter 10. Draco seems benign in his pureblood sort of way in that chapter. But then in the most recent chapter...

Scheming Draco and my Muggle-ish intuitions: Is he out to get his dad for killing his mother? It just seemed that he had some dark stuff floating in his head.

She was unnerved, however, to find him staring at his father with a cold glint in his eye and an evil smile edging his lips up. Something cold pierced her stomach, but then he looked over at her and the expression vanished. They exchanged polite congratulations before she turned to Severus, wondering if he'd seen the same expression. By the way he was observing Draco, she guessed he had.

I thought that he was out to get his dad. But then, my thoughts changed after the trial when he was being a bit prickish:

Draco waved off Severus' suggestion. "I am not going to dirty my robes for a M--for no reason," he said, correcting himself when he saw Severus' face darken dangerously.

At the rendezvous point:

It was very cozy, very posh, and she could feel the prejudice infusing the air. This was compounded by a man doing a double take at her and recognition hardened his features. The man's hateful gaze traveled over to Severus who promptly took her arm, secured it through his in a display of possession and protection and glared the man away.

She could understand why Severus hadn't looked happy at Draco's suggestion.

And Draco's rather overt racism:

Draco snorted. "I should hope not! Theirs is just a pathetic and failed attempt to copy us when some wizard was careless about who he let taste his drink."

Hermione cocked her head to the side and looked at Draco, deciding to ignore his racist undertone. "So you've had the sweet?"

Not sure why, but got my radar going. And this did even further:

Severus' smile dropped from his face quite suddenly, and he looked rather somber. He observed Draco thoughtfully for a moment before swallowing the rest of his drink in a single gulp.

"Just be careful you don't go to waste, Draco," Severus said, and Draco narrowed his eyes at that.

It just felt like he had it out for everybody, except for maybe Teddy. Made me go "hmmmmm." Came across as one very angry young man...

Dunno, maybe I'm just having a paranoid weekend kinda thing going on...

No, you're not paranoid. I'm really glad it's coming across that he's angry, because he is. Really angry, and with quite a bit of reason, too. It could definitely be viewed that all that is wrong with his life is his father's fault.

Thanks for explaining your reasoning!
