One last post for the night

You're Amherst College!
At a very young age, you ran away from home and never looked
back. While it felt like a necessary decision at the time, the passage of
the years has revealed that this may have been a bit hasty. At least you
didn't run too far. Since then, you've become an admirer and even patron
of the arts, especially comic strips. Hey, everyone has a different
definition of art. You read your Emily Dickinson, and often suffer
frost.

Except, no, I don't read my Dickinson. She's one of the reasons I don't read poetry.
So it was either that or Julliard. And although I do have a tendency toward being a tad melodramatic, I suppose I'll stick with Amherst. It is closer, after all. :-)

by Marion Zimmer Bradley
You're obsessed with Camelot in all its forms, from Arthurian legend
to the Kennedy administration. Your favorite movie from childhood was "The Sword in
the Stone". But more than tales of wizardry and Cuban missiles, you've focused on
women. You know that they truly hold all the power. You always wished you could meet
Jackie Kennedy.

*snicker* women hold all the power! hoo-rah!

Date: 2007-09-16 03:29 am (UTC)ED is my favorite poet AND I wrote my first MA thesis on her;
AND my dad is an alum of Amherst (class of '57)
AND I went to the Famous Women's College, No, The Bigger One Emily Didn't Go To, Yeah, That One (class of '87).
Amherst is, according to Dad, a haven for the Very Rich and Very White nowadays. But he still went to his reunion...

Date: 2007-09-16 03:43 am (UTC)It seems to me that most of the famous schools around here are havens for the VR&VW, but, well, I haven't really looked much, so I don't know. And the BOEDGT,Y,TO, would that be the one with the town's name or woman's name?

Date: 2007-09-16 03:15 pm (UTC)Anyway, I think Amherst is a very good fit for you. And I can't believe you don't like Emily Dickinson. You're just getting to be old enough to appreciate her.
(You should also not let one poet... for me it's Plath... ruin all of poetry for you.)
